How can I help my child's school get Tales Toolkit?
If you're part of a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) then bring it up at your next meeting or get in touch with the teachers to tell them about Tales Toolkit.
Some schools have put together fundraising events to help raise money to buy Tales Toolkit too.
Can I do the Tales Toolkit training as a family member?
Our training package is designed for professional educators but there are a couple of other ways you can get involved:
Tales Toolkit Loan Library - Schools can put together their own loan library that allows families to take home some resources and information to help you continue telling Tales Toolkit stories at home. Get in touch with your school to ask about their Loan Library, or contact us if you'd like support in getting one setup. Parent Training Programme - We are hard at work putting together a training programme that parents will be able to access through the school and we're hoping to release it in the next year.
Can it be used with SEND children?
Absolutely! Tales Toolkit's methods and resources (including our symbols and story bags) were designed for accessibility and we have lots of special schools using it.
Can I just buy the resources?
Most of our resources are not available to buy unless you are members with us. This is because we really believe that the training is essential to delivering our approach.
However, you can purchase our shuffle book by creating a free account and visiting the shop in the members area.
My child is older than 5, can they still benefit?
Although Tales Toolkit is designed for children aged under 5, older children can absolutely still benefit from it. Some schools use Tales Toolkit in higher age groups, which works particularly well when the children are already familiar with it, but that's not necessary.
Tales Toolkit can continue to be a useful tool when it comes to
We are working with teachers to support them in creating more resources and lesson plans for older age groups
